Northrop Grumman के YFQ-48A Talon Blue ने पहली fully autonomous flight पूरी की

अमेरिकी रक्षा कंपनी Northrop Grumman के YFQ-48A Talon Blue ने अपनी पहली fully autonomous flight पूरी कर ली है. कंपनी ने 3 अक्टूबर 2026 को बताया कि flight में taxi, takeoff, in-flight maneuvers और landing शामिल थे. यह flight कैलिफोर्निया के Mojave Air and Space Port से पूरी की गई.

Project Talon के तहत विकसित हुआ Talon Blue

Northrop Grumman के अनुसार Talon Blue कंपनी के internally funded Project Talon portfolio का हिस्सा है, जो mission-ready autonomous airpower capabilities के development को तेज करने पर केंद्रित है. अमेरिकी वायुसेना ने Talon Blue को YFQ-48A designation दिया है. Northrop Grumman इसे U.S. Air Force Collaborative Combat Aircraft (CCA) के रूप में describe करता है.

कंपनी के मुताबिक Talon Blue में modular design और advanced manufacturing का इस्तेमाल किया गया है. इसके design और manufacturing में किए गए बदलावों से part count और overall weight कम किया गया है. Northrop Grumman का कहना है कि इससे cost कम करने और production को तेज करने में मदद मिलती है.

Autonomous flight में हासिल किया अहम milestone

Northrop Grumman के Research and Advanced Design के Vice President और General Manager Craig Woolston ने कहा कि customers ऐसे autonomous systems चाहते हैं जिन्हें तेजी और affordability के साथ field किया जा सके, जबकि mission effectiveness से समझौता न हो. कंपनी के अनुसार Talon Blue की पहली flight autonomous capabilities को आगे बढ़ाने की दिशा में एक महत्वपूर्ण कदम है.

Northrop Grumman के मुताबिक Talon Blue का development कंपनी के सात दशकों के autonomy experience और 500,000 से अधिक autonomous flight hours के अनुभव पर आधारित है. कंपनी ने कहा है कि Talon Blue से मिले lessons का इस्तेमाल future autonomous systems के development में किया जाएगा.

Autonomous wingman के रूप में Talon Blue

Northrop Grumman Talon Blue को next-generation autonomous wingman के रूप में विकसित कर रहा है. कंपनी के अनुसार इसे crewed fighters को support करने के लिए तैयार किया जा रहा है. Talon Blue को अलग-अलग mission requirements के अनुरूप इस्तेमाल करने के लिए modular design के साथ विकसित किया गया है.
